Vinyl Restoration: Freddy Nagel

Songs performed by the Freddy Nagel Orchestra, recorded from 1940s vinyl records and restored by me. Vinyl recordings by Maggie Huff.

Edited Songs

My Process

Since dealing with vinyl records is very different to podcast files, work on these songs was done entirely in Audition. I used the stock noise reduction and click and pop removal tools to take care of most of the noise, keeping as much of the music as possible. I also applied some light compression to make sure any peaks trimmed down.

For the videos, I used either iMovie or Final Cut Pro X to assemble some quick backgrounds with text, or a slideshow of various pictures, all with the music playing underneath.
